Personality: Tenshi is a generally peaceful and thoughtful person. She is mature, kind-hearted, motherly, and compassionate. In moments of intense emotion she tries to stay reserved and in control of herself. As a Cancer, she is often looking to the past, reflecting on her family and the events of the past. As such she looses focus on the present and is gives little thought the future. Because Tenshi is so polite and quiet, she doesn't always assert herself right away, preferring to keep the peace. She is firm once she does assert herself, but she doesn't loose her temper. Even as a young girl and teen she strived to act like an adult and be mature. Her boyfriend Kaito helps her lighten up and have more fun. They often like to go out to eat and to events, as well as checking out anything and everything paranormal. While she doesn't take things too seriously, she doesn't always let herself relax, feeling the pressures of a job that takes up more of her time than she likes. Her real passions are making a comfortable home life and enjoying life's little pleasures. She's quite happy to sit at home reading.  

When it comes to ghosts and ghost-related things, Tenshi is fascinated by the idea of someone lingering on Earth after death. She doesn't believe in an afterlife, but is curious about what causes people's spirits to stay behind. These things, that are not always easily explained by science, intrigue her. She does try to approach this area skeptically, considering rational explanations and possible hoaxes. Tenshi likes to be scared for fun, though typically through something spooky or unknown.

She carries herself regally, staying poised and properly postured. Tenshi often dresses in business casual, or anything else that would be elegant, mature and classy. V-necks, lapels, and draping layers. Simple patterns in only one or two colors. Black peacoat for winter weather. Typically she wears slacks, but she'll wear skirts as well. She doesn't own any T-shirts, even for sleeping in. She only buys jeans in black or other dark washes. Tenshi likes to wear dress shoes and boots whenever possible. She likes to be well-dressed as often as possible. She will indulge in a few bolder patterns if she likes them, or for a more fun occasion.

To strangers she is polite and cordial. She can be straightforward and will speak her mind, but always in a kinder tone to keep things non-confrontational. She doesn't be nice just to get out of an uncomfortable situation fast, but will speak honestly and not cater to anyone's overblown ego. If she's in an uncomfortable social situation, she tries to leave it quickly and quietly without making it worse.


History: Tenshi was born to Anatoli Ostrovsky and Hinata Yamada, who met in Anatoli's home city of Penza, Russia. Hinata was attending Penza State university as an exchange student, and Anatoli was working as an electrician. After a relatively fast courtship, the two were engaged and Hinata was pregnant. Anatoli decided to leave Russia, fearing exposure to radiation from the Chernobyl accident, to keep his family safe from possible nuclear fallout, and they moved to Hinata's home town of Fukui in Japan. To this day Anatoli is against nuclear power, and he is often preoccupied with the status of the Fukushima plant. This is made worse since Hinata was pregnant several times after Tenshi's birth, but miscarried every time. There's no proof that they were even exposed to radiation, but Anatoli tends to blame it when he's on a tangent.

Growing up in a bilingual family, Tenshi learned both Japanese and Russian at an early age. She did well in school and even excelled in her English classes while in high school. Seeing work as a translator to be practical, she decided to attend college for the proper certifications in the Russian and English languages, which helps her find work with various companies in need of translators. While Tenshi has a successful career, she views it as merely financial security.

For a few years, Tenshi was a Russian tutor at Fukui Prefectural University. When she was twenty-six, she met Kaito Nakamura, a 20-year-old blind student who was fulfilling his language requirement. They became good friends right away, sharing an interest in scary stories and the paranormal. There was definitely chemistry between them, but neither would initiate a romantic relationship, feeling it wouldn't be appropriate. Tenshi continued to tutor him and help him with assistive technology as needed. At graduation a year later, Kaito asked Tenshi out on a date, and they've been together ever since. They just recently moved into an apartment together. Tenshi still works as a translator, and Kaito has a part-time job while he collaborates with a local ghost hunting group. They enjoy going out to dinner, absorbing all things paranormal, and attending events around town.

Weapon: A tall bladed staff. The orb at the top creates light to cast shadows, and the blade is used to strike at said shadows. Regardless of how hard a surface a shadow is projected on, the blade will sink in as long as there is a shadow.

Powers: M26 can attack something's shadow to manipulate it or wound it. She rarely attacks her enemy directly, but rather through its shadow. She can immobilize someone by "pinning" down their shadow, or attack the shadow itself, causing injuries and wounds to appear on the person. Because shadows can be cast from a distance, she does not need to be near her enemy to attack. M26 can also project shadows and cast darkness around her enemy to blind them. She also sees quite well in the dark.

Weaknesses: Unless shadows overlap, M26 can only attack one enemy at a time. Very brightly lit areas with little to no shadows are also a problem.

Relationships:

~ Kaito Nakamura: Tenshi boyfriend of two years, who is aware of her identity as a member of the Order of Sloan. This revelation has rocked their relationship, but they're still going strong. They both want to marry, but "haven't gotten around to it." Kaito is insistent he do things the old-fashioned way, which involves him buying a ring and proposing properly. He is afraid of losing Tenshi to this larger cosmic organization that he doesn't fully understand.

Other:

Tenshi can upgrade to NGC 6694 for short periods of time. Her power of shadow increases immensely, allowing her to create shadows and even kill enemies via their shadows.
